Great job this year Joe! This was a crazy tournament! Not as many upsets as usual but still had a double digit seed in the final 4!!! Until next year! Congrats to all the winners!!!!!

It's a wrap! UConn once again proved to be to much for the competition, and in the process setting a number of NCAA Tournament records, not to mentioned being being the first repeat winner, since Florida did it in 2006-2007.
We also set a number of records of our own, including most entries (436) and a record high of $4,500 raised for the City of Hope.

UConn just too tough for Alabama. Final is set: #1 Purdue vs #1 UConn.

N.C. State's Cinderella run is over. Purdue was just too strong. Let's see how Alabama does against UConn.

Some interesting numbers: No one had NC State-Purdue matchup. Only 19 (out of 437) entries had the UConn-Alabama matchup.
First time participant David Grundy is in 2nd place, which is amazing considering he has never watched the NCAA tournament before...

Geez. It’s like watching your golfing ball land left center fairway and roll left through the rough and into the drink. Hopeless feeling.

Nice to see a buzzer beater in the Texas A&M-Houston game. Wife was not happy at all since she has Houston going all the way..

Day two is done. As usual, we have a few surprises: 8 teams with double digits seeding made it to the 2nd round. I have a feeling we are not done with the upsets. Standings are current...

Day one is in the books. Not surprisingly, we already have a few upsets. Four double-digit seeds have made it through the next round. Eleventh seeds are 3-0.
Who knew that a #11 (NC State) & #13 (Oakland) would meet in the second round? We have 11 entries with this match-up!

Terry, we still have you, me, Mark Lippert and Michael Krainz. Manuel Pimentel (R.I.P) was also part of the O.G, and participated in every contest until last year.

hey Joe. How many are still playing that started with us in 1990?
(Terry S. - Brea, CA) 3/18/2024 12:13:47 PM
What Scot S didn't disclose is that it was a Swindle/Scalpi entry in 1999. lol
(Joe T. - Chino, CA) 3/18/2024 10:54:05 AM
Hi Josh. Yes! There is a biggest loser. You should be able to see it now. Thanks for reminding me.
(Josh A. - Maylene, AL) 3/18/2024 10:07:15 AM
Is there going to be a Biggest Loser?
(Joe T. - Chino, CA) 3/17/2024 5:01:08 PM
Welcome back, Michael (O.G.)!
I still can remember when you and Mark Lippert were telling me about this "NCAA tournament thing" and how much fun it would to be to do a pool/contest for it.
We managed to have 24 participants then. Fast forward a few decades, add making picks on-line and a good cause and now we get 380+ entries on a regular basis. :D
(Michael K. - Blanco, TX) 3/17/2024 4:16:06 PM
Back at it again for another go. Trying to revive the 1991 magic formula!!!!
(Joe T. - Chino, CA) 3/8/2024 11:45:11 AM
Hi Scot. Congrats on your win in 1999! But what really impresses me is that you've been participating for 28+ years. Very grateful for your continued support.
